Our engagement was an incredibly special time. It really all began the day Daniel and I went to pick up the ring. We had a great time at the Shane Co. We told the salesperson we were going to be loud, laugh, and cut up, but when we left we WOULD have a ring. We did find the perfect ring for Ginger and now the hard part would be keeping the secret. You never realize just how hard it is to keep this type of secret. You are so excited and want to tell everyone in the world. You think of funny things that were done or said on the trip that no one can know about, at least yet. You are sneaking around looking very closely at everyone's fingers and desperately trying to guess Ginger's ring size. The last thing you want is for the ring to not fit. Finally the weekend of the Fourth of July arrived. We left to visit Jan and Charles (Ginger's Parents) where I asked them for their blessing on our future marriage. They were ecstatic and openly welcomed me as a future member of their family. After leaving Jackson, we went to Savannah Georgia. Secretly I arranged for a room at the Historic Riverstreet Inn where Ginger and I could watch the fireworks from a private balcony. This was the perfect setting with just the two of us over the street with air conditioning streaming out on us waiting for the fireworks. As dark approached, Ginger noticed my hands were getting hot and she feared I was overheated from the warm temperatures. Little did she know I was about to propose! Once the fireworks began, we enjoyed them together. After about 5 minutes I asked Ginger to stand and I proposed my love to her and asked for her hand in Marriage. YES she said and I was the happiest boy in Savannah. After we got engaged, we enjoyed the fireworks and danced together to the choreographed music and fireworks. Please enjoy these pictures we took on that very special day.
Sincerely,
Evan Smith
